Christmas Gifts recipe makes: 2 dozen

Calories per biscuit: 125

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Cooking time: 10 minutes

Suitable for freezing at end of step 5.

Christmas recipe ingredients:

flour, plain white 350 g (12 oz)

bicarbonate of soda, 5 ml (1 tsp)

ginger, ground 30 ml (2 tbsp)

cinnamon, ground 15 ml (1 tbsp)

cloves, ground 2.5 ml (0.5 tsp)

butter, 125 g (4 oz)

sugar, soft light brown 175 g (6 oz)

golden syrup 60 ml (4 tbsp)

egg, 1

icing:

egg white, 1

icing sugar, sifted

food coloring

Christmas recipe instructions:

1. Blend the butter with a mixture of the spices, bicarbonate of soda and flour. Do this until it is breadcrumb like and then mix in the sugar.

2. Beat an egg into slightly warmed syrup and pour into the mixture from step 1, mixing till it becomes a soft dough. Then knead until smooth.

3. Make a 5mm (¼ inch) thick dough layer on a floured surface and cut out biscuit shapes using vaious cutters. Pierce a hole in each one for putting ribbon through later on , for hanging.

4. Put two non-stick baking sheets on two baking trays.

5. Place the various shaped cut outs onto the baking sheets and bake at 190 degrees centigrade (375 F) until golden brown, about 10 minutes. Allow to cool and harden for about 10 m inutes before placing on a wire rack till cold.

6. For the icing add sifted icing sugar to a beaten egg until stiff enough for piping. Add colorings if necessary to brighten up the decorations.

7. Put icing patterns of your choice on the biscuits. After allowing the biscuits to dry, put ribbons through the biscuit holes, ready for hanging on a christmas tree.

"Gue tahu dari ceritanya Aurel tentang kejadian (selingkuh .red) di Bali. Di Hotel Sultan," ujar Anang ditemui di Ruko Plaza Margaguna, Jl Radio Dalam Raya, Jakarta Selatan, Senin (31/8/2009) malam.

Walau sakit hatinya mengetahui KD berselingkuh, juri 'Indonesian Idol' itu bersikeras tidak membongkar pasangan baru sang istri. Anang pilih diam menunggu waktu yang tepat.

"Sebenarnya udah diingetin sekali, dua kali dan tiga kali untuk jangan main api. Tapi tidak juga berubah," jelas Anang.

 Angin Puting Beliung yang sekarang banyak terjadi dimana - mana telah membuat  kita agak takut juga jadinya.Puting beliung ialah sebuah tiub angin berpusing yang menyentuh tanah. Angin yang berada di dalam puting beliung berpusing dengan pantas dan menjadikan puting beliau sangat berbahaya.

Kebanyakan Puting Beliung mempunyai angin selaju 175 km/j atau kurang, dengan lebar 250 kaki (75 meter), dan bergerak beberapa kilometer sebelum "lenyap". Walau bagaimanapun, sesetengah puting beliung mempunyai angin selaju 480 km/j, dengan lebar lebih daripada (1.6 km), dan boleh bergerak melebihi 100 kilometer.

Puting beliung seringkali terjadi semasa hujan ribut petir angin kuat dan mendatangkan banyak kemusnahan kepada apa-apa sahaja yang disentuhnya. Saban tahun, ada nyawa yang terkoban akibat puting beliung.

Puting beliung boleh berlaku hasil aktiviti di dalam awan kumulonimbus yang besar semasa ribut petir dahsyat.Puting beliung juga boleh berlaku bersama taufan. Dalam kebanyakan ribut petir yang berlaku di dunia, udara panas naik membawa wap air dan membentuk awan kumulonimbus dan hujan membawa udara sejuk ke bawah pada tempat yang sama, oleh itu angin ribut kencang tidak terbentuk. Tetapi sesetengah ribut petir pula menghasilkan angin kencang di dalam awan akibat turun naik udara panas dan sejuk secara serentak serta turun naik udara panas dan sejuk yang tidak berlaku pada tempat yang sama, dikenali sebagai fenomena angin ricih. Sekiranya angin ricih kencang tersebut berubah bentuk daripada melintang di dalam awan kepada menegak, angin kencang berbentuk corong akan terbentuk dan pusaran angin berbentuk corong tersebut dikenali sebagai puting beliung.

Puting beliung dikategori mengikut Skala Fujita, daripada F0 sehingga F5. F0 mempunyai kelajuan angin paling rendah manakala F5 mempunyai kelajuan angin paling tinggi.

Amerika Syarikat adalah negara yang paling banyak mengalami bencana puting beliung tetapi ini tidak bermakna negara-negara lain tidak akan mengalami bencana ini. Puting beliung boleh terjadi di mana-mana tempat di dunia termasuklah Malaysia. Kawasan yang paling kerap dilanda ribut petir di Amerika Syarikat ialah di kawasan lembangan yang dilindungi Banjaran Rocky dan Banjaran Appalachian. Kawasan tersebut dikenali sebagai Lembah Puting Beliung (Tornado Alley).

Puting beliung amat sukar diramal dan ia hanya dapat diramalkan apabila titik tekanan rendah di dalam awan kumulonimbus dikesan oleh radar Doppler. Akibatnya, penduduk di kawasan yang diramalkan akan dilanda puting beliung hanya mempunyai masa yang sangat terhad untuk pergi ke tempat perlindungan.

Dengan menggunakan bikini, dan beradegan ciuman, adalah suatu hal yang cukup menggugah pertanyaan dari banyak wartawan saat itu. Tapi Tamara menanggapinya dengan cukup diplomatis. Emosi Ibu dari 1 anak tersebut tidak terpancing dengan pertanyaan bahkan pernyataan dari wartawan yang cukup pedas saat itu.

“Butuh waktu 2 minggu saya memutuskan untuk berperan dalam film ini. Saya juga konsultasi dengan keluarga dan ternyata saya dapat dukungan. Saya hanya menjalankan akting saya dengan profesionalitas saja, karena ini adalah karir saya dan bukan mencari sensasi semata,” jelas Tamara yang selalu menjawab pertanyaan para wartawan dengan senyumnya tersebut.

Sedangkan untuk masalah bayaran yang ia dapat, Tamara mengakui jika dirinya mendapat bayaran yang tinggi meskipun ia tidak menyebutkan angka pastinya. “Untuk persiapan film ini saya harus melakukan latihan fisik, karena harus beradegan di air terjun di malam hari yang suhunya mencapai -10 derajat. Saya latihan fitness, boxing, angkat beban, konsultasi dengan ahli gizi, pengorbanannya cukup luar biasa, jadi wajar jika saya dibayar mahal,” tegasnya untuk film yang akan hadir pada 3 Desember 2009 tersebut. Hemm.. jadi penasaran dengan 'keberanian' Tamara di Air Terun Pengantin kan?
