2009 NFL Draft Impact on Fantasy Football (AFC)

Ghana VS Mesir 0 - 1| Ghana VS Mesir Final Piala Afrika 2010 - After months of analysis and projections leading up to the April 25-26 NFL draft followed by days of draft recap and team grades, we focus on what really matters to us; how the draft affects our fantasy football leagues. While we may have thoughts on the absurdity of the contracts signed by high draft picks, it has no effect on our fantasy football team’s payroll. Players may have been drafted higher or lower than projected, but that has no impact on where they will be drafted in our leagues. What matters most to us is if the player will play and if it will be this year or in upcoming years. Let’s take a quick spin through the AFC and look at each team’s new additions that could factor into our fantasy football drafts.

Ghana VS Mesir - Baltimore – Baltimore’s best pick was on the offensive line with G Michael Oher. I cannot see this changing the draft position of any of the Ravens’ three-headed backfield. DE Paul Kruger was a nice addition to an aging defense.

Buffalo – Buffalo added players across the board, except for the offensive skill positions (Terrell Owens was added via free agency). DE Aaron Maybin will be a stud on defense, bumping the defense up a few positions. They did add TE Shawn Nelson who could have a sneaky year catching passes underneath. Hopefully, Owens won’t catch him conspiring with QB Trent Edwards on individual plays.

Cincinnati – The Bengals had a great overall draft, but their improvements on the offensive line OT Andre Smith and defense with LB Rey Maualuga and DE Michael Johnson does little to make their defense draftable or increase the draftability of any offensive players. I do love TE Chase Coffman and will take my chances on him with a late round pick.

Cleveland – Rookie wide receivers rarely do much in the NFL, but the Browns added two that I would recommend taking as a late round pick; Brian Robiskie and Mohamed Massaquoi.

Denver – The Broncos addressed their biggest weakness; their defense. However, their defense should only be rostered when facing Kansas City and Oakland. RB Knowshon Moreno is worth drafting, but I would not draft him too high as Denver signed 4 free agent RBs so I don’t see Moreno as their primary back.

Houston – The Texans added a few starters on defense to help out Mario Williams. The jury is out on whether or not it makes the position draftable or not cuz they were the 27th-ranked fantasy defense in 2008.

Indianapolis - DT Fili Moala helps the defense immediately, but the player to focus on is RB Donald Brown. Brown quietly lead the NCAA in rushing yards in 2008 and will step in right away for the Colts. Joseph Addai is still the number 1 running back, but has proven to be injury-prone, so Brown will get reps right away to minimize Addai’s touches. He should be selected in middle rounds and a few rounds higher in Keeper Leagues.

Jacksonville – The Jags grabbed a pair of offensive tackles to help restore their running game. This should keep Maurice Jones-Drew as a second round pick. WR Mike Thomas is worth a late-round flier.

Kansas City – The Chiefs signed a few good players on defense in DT Alex Magee and LB Tyson Jackson, but they will not make their defense worth drafting.

Miami – You will read a lot about how well QB Patrick White will fit into the Fins’ Wildcat offense, but how many touches can you realistically expect? They grabbed 6’ 5” WR Patrick Thomas outta USC to help their passing game, but if their offense does not make Ted Ginn Jr an every week starter, Thomas has no chance.

New England – Much like Dallas, New England worked multiple trades to fill multiple holes, but none of them will help us in the fantasy world. No offensive players to note and their D will not change draft perception with the new additions.

New York Jets – The Jets were the most daring team during the draft and landed two draftable players out of their three picks in QB Mark Sanchez and RB Shonn Green. Many people questioned the Green pick, but I love this kid. He is as tough and powerful as they get. Thomas Jones is in his early 30s and threatening to hold out if he doesn’t get more cash and Leon Washington may become too expensive, so Green is not a bench warmer. Sanchez had a short starting career at USC, but excelled in a pro style offense and seems polished and ready to tackle the New York media. I would recommend Sanchez as a mid-round pick and can see taking Green as a double digit round pick. Bump Sanchez up considerably in Keeper leagues and bump Green up a few rounds in Keeper leagues as well.

Oakland – Oakland would receive much more ridicule for its draft choices if Detroit wasn’t in the league. However, in fantasy football, who cares if Oakland drafted a guy a round too early and bypassed a much better receiver to do it. WR Darius Heyward-Bey is a burner and can put up some serious numbers if JaMarcus Russell can get him the ball. A good mid-round pick.

Pittsburgh – The Steelers didn’t really do much to change fantasy football except add another solid DT to its defense in Evander Hood. They should still be the first or second defense drafted.

San Diego – The Chargers added DE Larry English, but will probably move him to LB, especially if Merriman is slowed from his knee surgery and Shaun Phillips can’t stay out of trouble. No impact on fantasy in the least.

Tennessee – WR Kenny Britt was their best pick, but he will be a third option in a run first, second and third offense. They replaced Albert Haynesworth with DT Sen’Derrick Marks (no misspelling on the name). He is a slight step back, but won’t change the location in the draft for the Tennessee D.

Dalam film tersebut, Lia berperan sebagai hantu. Namun ia juga ikut melakoni beberapa adegan syur. Lia mengaku mendapat banyak dukungan dari kekasih juga personel lain Trio Macan.

"Kalau di Trio Macan itu nggak ada masalah. Malah kita selalu saling suport. Kita memang sudah satu hati. Aku pacaran sama Nano mereka juga senang," jelasnya.

Film 18+ True Love Never Diesini merupakan sebuah film yang memotret sebuah cerita cinta. Sikap urakan dari seorang pria berganti heroisme untuk membela perempuan yang memang dicintai. I'm really not sure how and even if this pertains to a split between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, but must question how much People Magazine was paid to run the article.

As one who questions the media and their ultimate motives constantly, I don't place a great deal of faith in the article in People Magazine denying the Bradd Pitt and Angelina Jolie split.

Of course, in all honesty, a Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie split doesn't matter one way or the other to me.

An ethical wingshooter only shoots once he has identified his prey. One can excuse the hunter confused by a partridge and francolin as from a distance they pretty much look the same. But in saying that a wingshooter must make an effort to learn the different species. To shoot the farmers specially protected blue cranes or any other specially protected birds may have severe consequences.

Using a 'gundog'

Salvador Sabanas Given the incredible ability of game birds to conceal themselves, especially when wounded, it could be successfully argued that it is unethical to go wingshooting without a trained dog. Even with the best of dog some game may still get lost, but it will definitely be a fraction of what is lost without a highly trained dog. It is also highly unethical to shoot birds over water without a retriever in the party. Not everyone has a 'gundog', but depending on the type of shooting, there should be at least one 'gundog' with every group of shooters.

Practise marksmanship

It could be regarded unethical for a wingshooter never to practise. Surely you owe it to the birds to go out several times before the season and shoot some clay targets. Unless you are a natural athlete with perfect hand-eye coordination, some practice at getting back into the swing of things is necessary for all of us.

It's just common sense and decency

Many times hunters become relaxed when out on a shoot, and that is usually when mistakes are made which may or may not result in a serious injury, but nevertheless has some consequence on other hunters or the game that is being hunted. Wingshooting etiquette is simple and straight forward and there are a few grey areas. Obey the simple rules of etiquette, act ethically and it is very likely that you may be asked to enjoy another shoot, if you are a beginner.

Ruby Alamsyah Says

Ruby Alamsyah, Bali Police say they have identified the equipment used to steal ATM card information from consumers there.

“I have found the device. I will demonstrate the device which is used to copy ATM cards and rob the account,” Denpasar Police chief Sr. Comsr. Gede Alit Widana told detik.com on Thursday.

The syndicate, according to Gede, installed the device on the ATM slot and placed a tiny camera nearby. Any transactions taking place on the ATM were monitored and recorded by a laptop from a nearby location.

“We will invite bank directors in Bali and demonstrate the device in front of them so they know the syndicate's modus operandi and how to anticipate it,” he said.

A specialist in Forensic Information Technology, Ruby Z Alamsyah, said the ATM scam is known as “skimming.”

Ruby helped the Jakarta Police capture a syndicate that had operated in the city since 2007. He told kompas.com he believed the Bali syndicate was related to the one in Jakarta.

“In October 2009, the Jakarta police arrested seven local perpetrators but they're only the operatives, because the masterminds are two Russians in a foreign country,” he said. The police had located the leaders of the syndicate, he added, but they were unable to arrest them due to difficulties in extraditing them.

“We discussed the case with the National Police and Jakarta Police and we are convinced the crime was conducted by the same syndicate,” he said.

Ruby suspected that the Bali skimmers drained their victims' accounts because they planned to escape overseas as soon as possible.

“Usually, the perpetrators only take a small amount so that the victims are not aware of it. Sometimes they even use a ratio system. For example, from a Rp 100 million account they will take Rp 10 million. If the account is Rp 10 million they will take Rp 500 thousand,” he explained.

A Ha Foot Of The Mountain CD

 I am a huge A Ha fan, from way back, and was excited about their latest, and ninth album release. This album has the traditional sounds that fans love with a new spin to keep it current for new fans to enjoy. A Ha is a Norwegian band with an incredible sound, that gets better with each album they release.

The band members consist of Morten Harket, lead vocalist, Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, guitarist and Magne Furuholmen, keyboardist. They originally formed in 1982, when they took the music industry by storm after leaving Norway and making London their new home. Their name was originally suppose to be the title of one of their singles, however the group thought it was a unique and easy to remember name, therefore decided it was the best name for the band.

The title of their ninth album is "Foot of the Mountain". This new release has just become available in much of the world, outside of the United States that is! The title track is already running up the charts and much is due to the synth pop sound that made the band famous in the first place. The last single that did this well for the band was "Take on Me", from 1985, given that the band has gone back to a more 80's sound this could be just the album to get them back onto the top 40 scene.

With so many bands making the mistake of trying to reinvent themselves, it is refreshing that they instead took a step back and gave us today's music with a little bit of the past intertwined. This works since today's top 40 listeners are different from those of the 1980's, therefore they made the sound enjoyable for both generations of listeners.

So, if you can, don't miss out on the opportunity to purchase this incredible album. All the songs were written by Paul and Magne, some together and some individually, and are a mix of the old A-Ha sound and a connection to their homeland. It truly is a wonderful collection of songs, and they all deserve the worldwide attention that they are receiving.

Nancy's Father Dead

Nancy Kerrigan, Massachusetts police have arrested the brother of famed Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan in connection with the suspicious death of their father.

Mark Kerrigan, 45, is expected to be arraigned later Monday on charges of assault and battery on an elderly person, police said.

Daniel Kerrigan, 70, was found unconscious Sunday in the kitchen of the skater's childhood home in Stoneham, Mass. after cops got a 911 call reporting a "sudden death," police said.

His wife, Brenda, told the Boston Herald that her husband suffered a heart attack.

Police have not confirmed that.

Mark Kerrigan was also taken to a hospital for treatment of an unspecified injury and later brought to the Stoneham Police Department for questioning, police said.

Kerrigan, 40, a married mother of three, lives in nearby Lynnfield, Mass.

She was the victim of rival skater Tonya Harding, whose ex-husband Jeff Gillooly hired a hit man to kneecap Kerrigan with collapsible baton at a figure skating practice in 1994.

Kerrigan recovered in time to win a silver medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics. She also won a bronze medal at the 1992 Olympics for the U.S. skating team.

Harding was convicted of hindering prosecution and banned for life by the U.S. Figure Skating Association for her role in the attack on ice princess Kerrigan.

Don Hewitt Profile

Don Hewitt Biography In 1968, CBS News forever changed the face of broadcast journalism with the premiere of 60 MINUTES. It was a revolution in television programming created by veteran newsman Don Hewitt. 60 MINUTES was the first news program to break into the Neilsen’s Top ten, and has been the highest rated public news program for more than thirty years. At the age of seventy-seven Hewitt continues to produce the show and is a major influence on broadcast news.

Born in 1922 in New York City,  Don Hewitt left New York University after one year to pursue a career in journalism. His first job was as a copy boy with THE NEW YORK HERALD TRIBUNE. From 1943 to 1945 Hewitt was a war correspondent in both the European and Pacific theaters. After the war, he worked as an editor for the Associated Press’ Memphis bureau, and remained in publishing until 1948. It was then that Hewitt began his long-term association with CBS News, as an associate director of DOUGLAS EDWARDS WITH THE NEWS. He continued with the show for fourteen years as both a producer and director.

In the early sixties Hewitt played a pivotal role in framing politics for a growing television audience. He directed and produced the now famous first presidential debate between John Kennedy and Richard Nixon. Around the same time he became the executive producer of CBS EVENING NEWS WITH WALTER CRONKITE. Within these many positions, Hewitt advanced the art of news broadcasting. Among his most influential contributions was the appropriation of the lower half of the screen for printed information. He created a more savvy generation of news “anchors” (a term coined by Hewitt), through his use of cue cards and multiple filming angles. It was this redefinition of the role of the news anchor that opened up the field for Hewitt’s major contribution.

In 1968 Hewitt created the first newsmagazine, 60 MINUTES. Using multiple anchors, each concentrating on a separate story, the program worked to provide in-depth coverage on a number of different topics. Unlike the nightly news, 60 MINUTES had the time to provide both the history and editorial commentary on the issues at hand. Having a greater leeway with the timeliness of their articles, 60 MINUTES could tackle systemic social and political issues in a way that had only been done before in print. This mixture of up-to-date reporting and extensive investigation gave 60 MINUTES an aura of knowledge and respectability previously unseen on television. In its first ten years the show rocketed to the top of the Neilsen ratings and remains there to this day.

Throughout the years, Hewitt has received every honor that can be given to a man in his position. The winner of eight Emmys, he was awarded the Founders Emmy by the International Council of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 1995. He has been honored by nearly every major university journalism program, including Columbia, the University of Missouri, Brandeis, and the University of California at Berkeley. Though Hewitt has remained out of the public eye for most of his career, his innovative spirit is at the core of much of the news that informs the country. His tireless pursuit of fair and effective reporting has led him into continued experimentation with the forms of broadcast news. His innovations have had countless effects on how the news is both reported and viewed. If imitation is the highest form of flattery, then one need only to turn on the television to understand how highly America thinks of Don Hewitt.

Rumah Dara

Film Rumah Dara merupakan sebuah film yang cukup menatrik untuk kita lihat dengan segera.Sadis dan penuh darah adalah penggambaran yang pas untuk 'Rumah Dara', film garapan Mo bersaudara. Dijamin, film bergenre slasher ini akan sering membuat Anda menahan nafas atau bahkan muntah.

Saat melakukan sebuah perjalanan, Ladya (Jullie Estelle) bersama kakak dan teman-temannya tidak sengaja bertemu dengan Maya (Imelda Therinne) yang terlantar di tengah jalan. Bermaksud baik, Ladya pun berniat untuk mengantarkannya Maya pulang ke rumahnya.

'Rumah Dara' merupakan pengembangan film pendek 'Darah' yang juga digarap oleh Timo Tjahjanto dan Kimo Stamboel. Saat diputar di beberapa festival film, 'Darah' memang sangat menarik perhatian. Film tersebut hadir ketika film horor Indonesia lebih menampilkan sosok hantu sebagai bintang utamanya.

Yup, 'Darah' memang mengambil aliran slasher yang merupakan sub aliran horor. Biasanya, film slasher melibatkan karakter pembunuh psikopat yang menghabisi hidup para korbannya dengan cara yang menyiksa.

Otak Sindikat Pembobol

CCTV Pembobol ATM, Tim khusus gabungan Mabes Polri terus memburu para pelaku pembobol dana nasabah perbankan di sejumlah kota. Hingga tadi malam, sudah 13 orang tersangka yang diamankan. Dari pengakuan beberapa tersangka, otak sindikat itu kabur ke sebuah kota di Pulau Kalimantan.

"Karena sedang diburu, maka identitasnya belum bisa saya sampaikan," kata Kepala Divisi Humas Mabes Polri Irjen Edward Aritonang di Mabes Polri, Jakarta kemarin ( 23/01). "Kami terus memantau perkembangan pengusutan kasus yang merugikan nasabah perbankan hingga miliaran rupiah itu," imbuhnya.

Tim khusus yang dipimpin Direktur II/ Ekonomi Khusus Mabes Polri Brigjan Radja Erizman sekarang berada di beberapa kota yang menjadi lokasi operasi sindikat. Di antaranya, Pekanbaru, Kuta, Denpasar, Pontianak dan Medan. "Mereka dibantu oleh tim dari Polda setempat," kata Edward.

Mabes Polri tak ingin kasus ini berlarut-larut terlalu lama. Sebab, efeknya bisa langsung pada kepercayaan nasabah pada perbankan. Ujungnya adalah kepercayaan investor dan iklim bisnis. "Kami mengimbau nasabah lain tak perlu panik. Lakukan transaksi secara normal, namun tetap waspada dan cermat memilih lokasi penarikan (uang)," kata mantan juru bicara tim investigasi kasus Bom Bali 1 itu.

Bagi para korban, Edward menjamin semua dana yang hilang akan dikembalikan oleh bank masing-masing. "Memang prosesnya perlu waktu. Tapi, dari pertemuan dengan Bareskrim, mereka menjamin dana itu tidak hilang, tapi akan diganti," kata jenderal dua bintang itu.

Edward meyakini, sindikat yang berhasil ditangkap tim Mabes Polri adalah pelaku kambuhan. "Ada residivis. Tampaknya mereka memanfaatkan keahlian jahat itu dengan mengajak teman-teman baru," katanya.

Sindikat itu sangat menguasai komputer dan bisa mengutak-atik data. Dari barang bukti yang disita, menurut Edward, kepolisian menemukan sebanyak 264.000 data PIN telah direkam pelaku. "Mereka menempelkan semacam perekam di tempat tersembunyi dalam bilik ATM. Alat itu dibuat menempel dengan kamera CCTV," katanya.

Alat skimmer yang digunakan untuk menggandakan kartu ATM juga disita polisi bersama sejumlah kartu yang palsu yang belum digunakan. Menurut Edward, ada empat modus yang digunakan para pelaku. Yang pertama, pelaku melakukan cara untuk mengetahui data kartu ATM dan kartu kredit dengan menggunakan skimmer. Untuk PIN, dilakukan lewat pengintipan dengan kamera tersembunyi.

Modus kedua, pelaku melakukan cara supaya kartu bisa tertahan di dalam. Setelah kartu tertahan, di ATM tersebut pelaku menempelkan stiker palsu yang bertuliskan hotline operator bank tersebut di mesin ATM. Tujuannya, agar korban bisa menghubungi nomor tersebut. "Karena nomor itu palsu, maka nasabah yang terjebak akan memberikan data nomor rekening, data pribadi , nama ibu, dan bisa digunakan untuk meminta nomor pin baru pada pihak bank yang asli," katanya.

Modus ketiga pelaku menggunakan alat penjepit kartu yang digunakan di ATM. Saat kartu masuk, kartu tidak bisa keluar. "Pelaku akan menghampiri korban dan meminta untuk menghubungi nomor tertentu dengan pemberitahuan itu, nanti akan ada operator gadungan yang mengangkat dan meminta data,"katanya.

Modus keempat, pelaku menjual data nasabah kepada orang lain. "Untuk modus yang terakhir itu tentu melibatkan orang dalam perbankan. Kita telah meminta BI agar berkoordinasi dengan operator bank melakukan verifikasi internal," katanya

Apple Luncurkan iPhone 4G 27 Januari

Dalam acara tersebut Apple akan fokus kepada tiga hal yakni perangkat tablet, iPhone 4 dan perangkat lunak iLife 2010.

Ketua Komisi Fatwa MUI Sumsel, KH Drs Luthfi Izzudin menjelaskan, fatwa haram terhadap sejumlah tayangan itu dikeluarkan dengan alasan banyak dampak negatifnya. "Hal ini dikarenakan banyak hal negatif yang ditimbulkan oleh acara-acara tersebut. Diantaranya membuka aib seseorang dan mempertontonkannya di hadapan jutaan pemirsa televisi ," kata KH Drs Luthfi Izzudin bersama Sekrtaris Komisi Fatwa MUI Sumsel, H M Abu Dzar dan Ketua Komisi Kajian MUI Sumsel, KH Amin Dinyatmi kemarin (9/1) dalam jumpa pers di sekretariat MUI Sumsel.

Khusus mengenai tayangan pencarian jodoh yang saat ini sedang ramai diperbincangkan, Luthfi mengatakan, jenis tayangan itu sama sekali tidak mengandung nilai dan kaedah Islam. Yang mana dalam Islam membina hubungan untuk dijadikan pasangan hidup memiliki tata cara tersendiri yang sopan dan santun. "Dalam Islam, jika seorang lelaki ingin mengajak perempuan keluar dari rumahnya maka ia harus berkenalan dengan kedua orang tuanya lalu berpamitan untuk mengajak keluar anaknya. Sementara dalam acara yang lagi marak ditayangkan stasiun televisi tersebut sama sekali tidak mengikuti tata cara yang dimaksud. Malahan lelaki dan perempuan yang ada dalam acara tersebut baru kenal dan langsung bisa jalan bareng bergandengan tangan," urainya.

Sementara, diharamkannya tayangan hiptonis, lantaran tayangan itu kerap kali menggali aib seseorang saat seseorang tersebut sedang berada di alam bawah sadarnya. Lalu aib tersebut dipertontonkan terhadap ratusan ribu bahkan jutaan umat manusia di Indonesia yang menggandrungi acara tersebut. "Malahan acara demikian juga dimasukkan unsur ramalan mistis yang tidak terbukti kebenarannya," ungkapnya.

"Tayangan seperti itu merusakkan moral umat Islam. Sehingga patut untuk dijauhi oleh umat muslim di Sumsel. Bahkan banyak kalangan generasi penerus yang sudah mempercayai dan mengikuti tingkah polah dari tayangan yang ditontonnya," ujar Luthfi.

Namun diakui Luthfi, untuk saat ini memang fatwa untuk infotainment belum diterbitkan oleh MUI. Namun tengah digodok dan dibahas dalam pertemuan sejumlah petinggi MUI. Menurut Luthfi kedepan pernyataan ini akan diserahkan kepada Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia Daerah (KPID) Sumsel. Menurutnya KPID lebih berkompetan dan berwenang untuk memberikan sanksi terhadap stasiun penyiaran yang merusak moral bangsa

Pria juga harus memperhatikan pola makan pasangannya. Jangan biarkan wanita melakukan diet berlebihan karena itu hanya akan membuat tubuhnya kekurangan nutrisi. Belajarlah menerapkan pola makan sehat dengan memberinya contoh makan yang baik. Perbanyak makan buah, minum air putih serta makanan bernutrisi dan berenergi. Racun

Jika racun menumpuk dalam tubuh maka yang muncul pada wanita biasanya adalah jerawat, bau badan dan energi rendah. Obat anti depresi

Beberapa obat anti depresi ada yang bisa meningkatkan libido wanita tapi ada juga yang justru menurunkannya. Obat Prozac contohnya yang dilaporkan membuat hasrat seksual wanita menurun. Komunikasi yang baik dan berikan sedikit permainan sebelum memulai hubungan bisa mengurangi rasa depresinya.

Obat tekanan darah tinggi

Hampir sebagian besar obat penurun tekanan darah membunuh hasrat seks wanita. Dokter biasanya memberi resep obat hipertensi yang berbeda-beda untuk mengetahui efeknya terhadap hasrat seks wanita. Melakukan olahraga dan aktivitas menyenangkan penghilang stres lainnya lebih baik daripada minum obat.

The Sony VAIO CW series of laptops is available in various colors. Our review unit (VPCCW16FG/W) was icy white all around, with the VAIO logo engraved on its non-glossy screen lid's (no fingerprints here!) center. Prop the screen up to reveal a chiclet-styled keyboard with plenty of palmrest to park your hands while typing. The palmrest is slightly raised and prominent - this actually aids comfort while typing. The VAIO CW is very well built, has rounded edges, and feels like a premium laptop. It weighs all of 2.4-kg with a six-cell battery, which is lesser compared to 15-inch laptops like Dell Studio 15 Artist Edition and Acer Aspire 5542G perched in our Top 5 Mainstream Laptop recommendations.

The Sony VAIO CW comes with a 14-inch LED backlit screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio, supporting a maximum resolution of 1366x768, and a 1.3MP webcam is recessed on its top bezel. The Sony VAIO CW's screen isn't as bright as the Samsung R470's but at par with the likes of Dell Inspiron 14z and Lenovo Ideapad Y450. It offers good viewing angles and watching movies as well as reading text is pretty good. Typing on the chiclet-styled keyboard is extremely comfortable and the key feedback is just about right. The VAIO CW's touchpad and the two mouse buttons are nice to work with. The laptop's hinge (below the screen) has a host of quick-launch buttons: for launching a browser, turning off the screen, or launching the VAIO's app console--all this really helps in day-to-day usage.

Despite its 14-inch frame, the Sony VAIO CW is incredibly powerful under the hood. It has an Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53-GHz processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 320GB hard drive, and a GeForce GT230M graphics card. Besides the standard offering of input-output ports, the Sony VAIO CW doesn't skimp on must-haves like Gigabit Ethernet, Draft-N Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. The VAIO CW doesn't come with an eSATA port, but includes HDMI-out (to play HD content on an LCD TV) and FireWire (transfer images or video from your camera, handycam) ports, along with Sony's proprietary MagicGate slot . Apart from 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, Sony also bundles in a host of proprietary apps for managing your multimedia content. A very healthy set of features, overall, from the Sony VAIO CW.

The Sony VAIO CW is one of the most powerful mainstream laptop we've encountered for some time. Its WorldBench 6 scored past 100 without a hiccup, and our round of synthetic benchmarks posted very high numbers on the VAIO CW. What's interesting, though, is its bundled Nvidia GPU--the GeForce GT230M. Apart from handling HD content and 3D applications, the graphics card is enough to satisfy gamers with modest expectations--yes, you can game on it, if you like gaming on a 14-inch screen that is. The Sony VAIO CW is a very good compact, all-purpose laptop in terms of pure performance. Onboard sound from the speakers situated on the hinge is good, but not great.

But it has a glaring trade-off with battery performance--the bundled six-cell battery failed to last an hour on our benchmarks. The most you can expect from the Sony VAIO CW is over two hours, on a conservative battery plan, which is poor compared to other mainstream laptop offerings.

Dell Inspiron Mini 10

Dell Studio One 19 Desktop Computer - Dell’s netbooks have always been in the middle of the pack. They’ve typically offered sleek designs and plenty of customization options, but not the best ergonomics or battery life. This time around Dell took full advantage of Intel’s new Atom N450 processor (Pine Trail) to give its Inspiron Mini 10 a major boost of endurance. Thanks in part to this more efficient CPU, the Mini 10 offers over 9 hours of battery life without a bulging battery. We especially like the more distinctive look, not to mention the several fun color options. You also get a 250GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, and Windows 7 Starter Edition. At $369, the Mini 10 is fiscally attractive, too. But has Dell done enough to catch up to the likes of Acer, ASUS, and Toshiba?

Design

Dell’s new Mini 10 is a fairly dramatic departure from its predecessor. This netbook sports a wedge-shape design with a lid that sits on top of the deck instead of dropping down behind the body. When closed, the rear of the deck is exposed, bringing to mind the design of Dell’s original high-priced Adamo. The black deck is also imprinted with a crosshatch pattern that adds a nice texture. At 10.5 x 7.7 x 1.3 inches, the Mini 10 is a shade larger than the Toshiba mini NB305, and is also larger than the older Mini 10 (10.3 x 7.2 x 1.3 inches). Weighing 3.0 pounds even, this model is also slightly heavier than the netbook norm of 2.8 pounds.

The shell of our Mini 10 was made of white plastic, which hides fingerprints well despite having a glossy finish. Other color options include black, blue, green, pink, purple, and red. Users will also have the option to select one of 229 different lids from the Dell Design Studio, ranging from a New York Yankees pattern to artists’ designs and lipstick colors. Personalization doesn’t come cheap however; these options cost $85.

Heat

After playing a Hulu video for 15 minutes at full screen, the Mini 10 got toasty. The touchpad measured 95 degrees Fahrenheit, the space between the G and H keys was 100 degrees, and the center of the underside measured 108 degrees. The right section of the underside towards the front measured a disturbing 120 degrees after this test, but in the 104- to 108-degree range with little to no activity. We consider anything higher than 100 degrees to be unpleasant.

The style of the Mini 10’s keyboard has also changed. Instead of being completely flat, the keys are now terraced so that the top is smaller than the base, but still wide enough for us to type comfortably for extended stretches. Some may prefer the Toshiba mini NB305’s metal island-style keyboard because it has more space in between the keys, but the Mini 10 beats that system when it comes to its more solid feedback.

On the plus side, this allowed the company to keep the Mini 10’s touchpad large at 3.0 x 1.4 inches. However, the buttons are quite small, and not as usable as a traditional setup. Since the last Mini 10 (and 11z), Dell has switched from an Elantech to a Synaptics driver, and no longer supports multitouch gestures such as rotating, two-finger scrolling, and pinching to zoom. This may be a good thing, since those gestures were tricky to use on the previous Mini 10s. Still, those who concurrently use both their right and left hands on the touchpad will find it more difficult to use; the cursor would sometimes move before we clicked down, which was annoying. Overall, we prefer larger touchpads with discrete touchpad buttons, which is exactly what you’ll find on such systems as the Toshiba mini NB305.

Cukup Aman di ATM Bersama

Skimmer ATM| Kenali Waspadai Skimmer ATM - PT Artajasa Pembayaran Elektronis (Artajasa), salah satu penyedia jasa jaringan ATM Bersama, menegaskan bahwa nasabah tidak perlu khawatir untuk bertransaksi di ATM Bersama.

Zul Irfan selaku Vice President Electronic Channel Department Artajasa menjelaskan, kasus pembobolan yang terjadi beberapa hari ini menjadi tanggung jawab pemilik mesin ATM, yakni tanggung jawab bank.

"Proses skimming terjadi pada mesin ATM, bukan pada jaringan. Kalau kami kan penyedia jaringannya," ujar Zul saat jumpa pers di Hotel Kempinski, Jakarta, Jumat (22/1/2010).

Saat ini, lanjut Zul Irfan, anggota ATM Bersama terdiri dari 74 bank dan 20.000 terminal ATM. Artajasa sendiri bertanggung jawab di jaringan dan sistemnya. "Saya pastikan tidak ada masalah yang terjadi di dalam jaringan dan sistem," tegasnya.

Lebih lanjut Zul menegaskan, mesin ATM Bersama yang dimiliki oleh Artajasa sudah dilengkapi dengan pengaman anti-skimmer. "Kami mempunyai 38 mesin ATM yang pure atas nama ATM Bersama yang tersebar di Jakarta. Semua mesin sudah dilengkapi oleh anti-skimmer," tandasnya.

Sementara itu, Nuri Wicaksana selaku Vice President IT Development Artajasa, mengatakan bahwa nasabah diharapkan bersabar. Dia meyakini, perbankan akan mengembalikan kerugian dana nasabah akibat kasus ini. Namun, proses pengembalian dana nasabah memerlukan prosedur yang bertahap. "Kalau masalah teknis, itu bisa diperkirakan dalam seminggu. Namun, ini kasus yang berbeda. Ada prosedur dan mekanisme yang dijalankan," katanya.

Ia mengatakan, hingga saat ini laporan mengenai korban pembobolan ATM baru berasal dari Bali. Sejauh ini belum ada laporan dari Jakarta. "Begitu mendengar kabar, teman-teman bank langsung melakukan langkah-langkah. Bank kan juga tidak mau rugi. Kalau ada apa-apa, uang kembali," tandasnya.

Jakarta destination

Jakarta Capital City government is ready to make significant development in Kepulauan Seribu Regency, in order to promote tourism potentials in the area.

That’s what Jakarta Capital City Governor Fauzi Bowo said in his speech during a workshop themed acceleration of tourism development in Kepulauan Seribu, at a hotel in Central Jakarta, Tuesday (1/19).

The governor said there were still many things that had to be improved to make Kepulauan Seribu a leading tourist destination. In the formulation of pre-workshop, there were at least ten points of problems must be addressed, among them were accessibility and electricity network.

Concerning the electricity problem, Fauzi Bowo said his administration had set a target for the regency to use no more electricity generators in 2012, meaning electricity network would be available by that year.

While for the accessibility, the government is now building a special port in Muara Angke area, which is designated to visitors of Kepulauan Seribu. The construction is expected to be completed at the end of this year. “The commitment of Pulau Seribu development is one more step ahead, than just paying attention. Burhanuddin said he was quite in favor with the pre-workshop formulation, since all the points included were fully directed to development in Kepulauan Seribu.

Google postpones phone

Google's recent turmoil in China has prompted the company to halt the launch of two Android smartphones in the Chinese market.

The company said Tuesday in a statement to Dow Jones Newswire that it has indefinitely postponed the Chinese debut of two mobile phones manufactured by Samsung and Motorola. The phones, which were to be sold by provider China Unicom, were initially set to hit China on Wednesday.

An unnamed source told Dow Jones that Google felt it would be "irresponsible" to unveil the phones now, in light of the company's current situation in China. No details were given on when or if the launch would be rescheduled.

Since opening up shop in China in 2006, Google has self-censored the search results of its Chinese site to comply with the country's strict censorship rules. But Google, whose company slogan is "don't be evil," announced last week that it would no longer censor results even if it meant closing down operations in that country.

This reversal was triggered in part by last year's cyberattacks against Google and other U.S. companies, which were designed to dig up information on Chinese human rights activists. Google didn't specifically point the finger at the Chinese government, but it did say that these attacks and China's attempts to limit free speech have forced it to reevaluate its business in that country.

The skirmish has even pulled in the U.S. government. The State Department announced Friday that it will issue a formal request to China for an explanation of the cyberattacks.

Old scripts

Please remember that old installations are an open invitation for hackers. So, if you have installed Joomla or WordPress that you tried out a couple of months ago; please remove it. It takes 5 seconds to hack an old version of Joomla, upload a shell script and have total control over your account.

Passwords

Never use easy to guess passwords or the same password more than once; if someone finds a password of yours they will try it everywhere else until they reach success. If someone finds your webmail password you’re pretty much guaranteed they’ll try it elsewhere - maybe in cPanel, maybe on your online banking!

Cloak Your Folders

You should keep a blank index.html in all of the folders inside your public_html; this will make sure the contents can’t be easily viewed on the internet. CPanel has this function, check out ‘Index Manager’. It’s always a good idea to keep your files and folders secret.

Password Protect Your Admin Folder

You should password protect the admin folder of any scripts you are using, this provides an extra layer of security and is highly recommended. You can do this in cPanel by clicking the Directory Protection link.

So You Got Hacked?

If you got clicked that something has happened, maybe some spam was sent from your account, or you found you were hosting a phishing site, the first step you need to take is changing your passwords. All of them - cPanel, email, site admin passwords, everything.

Next up, go through your web space and remove all old script installations, remember if you installed plugins in your scripts (modules for Joomla/WordPress etc) they can be hacked too! Make sure they’re up-to-date too.

You can check the Error Logs in cPanel for suspicious requests. Generally, a hacker leaves suspicious files around, so look for such files within your public_html folder. Once the files are found, take the details of those files, such as date and time that the file was uploaded, the file name, folder it was in, and inform your web host so they can check through. Then delete the files.

Being hacked can happen to anyone at all, your security will always depend on its weakest point. If you don’t keep things up-to-date and secure, your site will be hacked and be used for criminal activity in one way or another – however, now is the perfect time to stop this from happening.

As yet I have not seen a copy of the complaint filed by Kodak against RIM, but courtesy of the Docket Report, the two complaints filed by Kodak against Apple in the United States Federal District Court for the Western District of New York appeared in my inbox this morning. Returning to the matter at hand here, there is one thing that must be said immediately about Kodak suing Apple and RIM. Typically when large corporations sue other large corporations there is not all that much interest in taking the matter all the way through litigation to a court ordered disposition. Most times large companies sue each other for posturing purposes and to facilitate getting a better deal at the bargaining table. While there is some evidence to suggest that could be the case, with the presence of Kodak in any patent litigation one must stand up and take notice. Kodak was the defendant in the 15-year patent battle with Polaroid over instant camera technology. Kodak ultimately paid $925 million to Polaroid in 1991, and both Kodak and Polaroid spent several hundreds of millions of dollars in attorneys fees. So make no mistake, Kodak is no stranger to high stakes patent litigation. So pundits and observers can sit back and be thankful for a true heavyweight match of epic proportions could well be on the horizon and could well run for many years to come.

As I looked through the two complaints filed, and wondered exactly why Kodak would file two separate complaints rather than a single complaint, I immediately noticed a stark difference between this lawsuit and those that are started by so-called patent trolls. I am on record as saying I detest the complaining about patent trolls who are seeking to enforce rights they own fairly and squarely, but in many instances true patent trolls file complaints that seem woefully inadequate to me. Patent litigation by ambush shouldn’t be the rule, and it should be stopped. This is particularly true given how easy it is to actually put together a complaint that provides information to the defendant about the claim being brought. These complaints are exceptionally short, and as is typical they are even double spaced in terms of line spacing, but they clearly put Apple on notice with respect to the theories and the claims that are believed to be infringed.

In the first complaint Kodak alleges that Apple is liable for direct infringement, inducing others to infringe and contributory infringement of U.S. Patent No. 6,292,218 and U.S. Patent No. 5,493,335. More specifically, the complaint explains that it is believed that by contracting for the distribution of infringing mobile devices for sale by retail sales outlets, by marketing the infringing mobile devices, by creating and distributing user manuals for the infringing mobile devices, and by supplying warranty coverage Apple infringes Claims 15, 23, 25, 26 and 27 of the ‘218 patent. The complaint further alleges that the importation into the United States of products such as the iPhone 3GS mobile device infringe Claim 1 of the ‘335. This complaint, unlike the second complaint, does not specifically allege Apple was put on notice, but explains that Apple will be put on notice at least no later than when they receive service of the complaint. It is alleged that Apple is believed to have actual knowledge of infringement even before the complaint was filed.

In the second complaint Kodak alleges again that Apple is liable for direct infringement, inducing others to infringe and contributory infringement, this time with respect to U.S. Patent No. 5,226,161, U.S. Patent No. 5,421,012, and U.S. Patent No. 5,303,379. More specifically, The complaint alleges that Apple has infringed and continues to infringe the ‘161 patent, by using, selling and/or offering to sell, within the United States, and/or by importing into the United States, products, including, but not limited to, the Mac mini, iMac, Mac Pro, Xserve Nehalem, MacBook, iMac, iPhone 3GS, and iPod Touch, which embody and/or practice Claim 1 of the ‘161 patent. The complaint further alleges that Apple has infringed and continues to infringe the ‘012 patent, by using, selling and/or offering to sell, within the United States, and/or by importing into the United States, products, including, but not limited to, the Mac mini, iMac, Mac Pro, Xserve Nehalem, MacBook, iMac, iPhone 3GS, and iPod Touch, which embody and/or practice Claim 1 of the ‘012 patent. Finally, the complaint asserts that Apple has infringed and continues to infringe the ‘379 patent, by using, selling and/or offering to sell, within the United States, and/or by importing into the United States, products, including, but not limited to, the Mac mini, iMac, Mac Pro, Xserve Nehalem, MacBook, iMac, iPhone 3GS, and iPod Touch, which embody and/or practice Claim 1 of the ‘379 patent.

With respect to the second complaint, Kodak alleges that Apple was put on notice of the infringement of the ‘161 patent, the ‘012 patent and the ‘379 patent through a series of communications and meetings between Kodak and Apple beginning at least as early as November, 2007. The second complaint suggests that it is believed that Apple knew of the infringement earlier than November 2007. Perhaps this is why the complaints were separated, I am not sure. There must be a reason why they were separated because it seems all but certain the cases will be consolidated for trial. In any event, the fact that Kodak and Apple have been talking about these patents for over 2 years suggests that these litigations have more to do with posturing than anything else. Still, as pointed out above, making the assumption that Kodak is not willing to go to the mattresses if necessary would seem to be fool-hardy, at least if you ask me.

Insofar as the relief sought by Kodak, it is pretty standard. They do not announce a dollar figure, although if there is infringement found you can bet the dollar figure would be attention grabbing. Kodak does ask for both preliminary and permanent injunctive relief, compensatory damages, enhanced damages because they believe the infringement was willful and, of course, they want their costs and fees, including attorneys fees, which can be recovered in extraordinary cases where there is egregious infringement or litigation misconduct. Recovering attorneys fees in patent litigation is not easy, but possible, and if Kodak is going to the mattresses attorneys fees could quickly blow through 7 figures and into the 8 figure range, and that is just getting started!

Look for much more interesting news to break, and expect either a quick settlement, which I suspect is unlikely, or the mother of all preliminary injunction hearings, which as a commentator I am hoping for!
