Ayah Ahmad Dhani Meninggal Dunia

Selain keluarga Ade Namnung yang tentu saja sangat bersedih ditinggalkan oleh anggota keluarganya yang sangat disayanginya. Ahmad Dhani juga saat ini sedang berduka, Ayahanda Ahmad Dani Meninggal Dunia. Biarpun Ahmad Dhani tidak mersa shok, karena Eddy Abdul Manaf (78), telah lama menderita sakit yang cukup serius sehingga keadaannya selama 3 tahun belakangan ini tidak berdaya. Namun sebagai seorang manusia dan seorang anak, tentu saja rasa sedih dan pilu hadir ke dalam sanubari pentolan Band Dewa yang namanya malang melintang di blantika musik tanah air.

Ahmad Dhani yang tampak berwibawa dan juga jantan ini merupakan saudara dari H. Rudi Gunawan SH,MH seorang advokat yang ternama dan juga salah seorang ketua HKTI tingkat provinsi. Rumaha kediaman H. Rudi Gunawan inilah yang dipakai waktu jenazah Ayah Ahmad Dhani tiba di Kebupaten Garut. Rombongan Ahmad Dhani yang disertai rekan - rekan sesama artis dan penyanyi tiba di Desa Cinunuk Kecamatan Wanaraja Kabupaten Garut tiba sore hari. Karena memang Ayah Ahmad Dhani berasal dari Wanaraja _Garut.
Ayah Dhani meninggal dunia sekira pukul 00.50 WIB dinihari tadi. Menurut Syamsul, keinginan dimakamkan di Garut merupakan keinginan almarhum. Ayah pentolan band Dewa19 itu sempat mengutarakan niatnya dimakamkan di tanah leluhurnya.

"Itu memang keinginan almarhum dimakamkan di tanah leluhurnya. Siang ini akan dibawa ke Garut sambil menunggu Dhani kembali dari Kuala Lumpur,

Ayah Dhani, Eddy Abdul Manaf meninggal dunia dalam usia 78 , Rabu (1/2) sekitar pukul 00.50 WIB.

Kabar meninggalnya Eddy tersebar melalui pesan BlackBerry Mesaanger. Hal itu juga diperkuat dengan ucapan duka dari Mulan Jameela, salah satu orang dekat Ahmad Dhani.

Utha Likumahua Meninggal

Belum lama berselang Saiful Jamil kehilangan istri yang sangat dicintainya yang bernama Virginia Anggareni yang meninggal dunia karena kecelakaan di Jalan Tol Cipularang. Kini kita mendengar lagi berita duka, Penyanyi tenar Indonesia yang bernama Utha Likumahua Meninggal. Biarpun sebab meninggalnya berbeda, Utha Meninggal Dunia karena sakit yang telah diteritanya selama beberapa bulan belakangan ini.

Kabar ini dibenarkan oleh keponakannya Ria Likumahuwa yang mengatakan jika Utha telah meninggal siang ini.

"Iya betul, sekarang masih di Fatmawati. Meninggalnya tadi jam setengah 2 siang. Terakhir kemarin kan dioperasi tempurung (otaknya) tanggal 8 September kemarin," paparnya.

Saat ditanya bagaimana kondisi sebelum meninggal, Ria menuturkan bahwa sebelum pagi selang untuk aliran darah Utha terlepas. Selain itu kondisi Utha juga menurun.

"Sebelumnya pagi-pagi selangnya terlepas untuk aliran darahnya. Badannya sempat lemas, kondisinya menurun. Lalu selangnya masih sempat dipasang lagi siang jam 12 tapi badannya masih sangat lemas hingga akhirnya sampai meninggal," ujarnya sembari terbata bata.

Istri Barry Likumahuwa ini tak bisa memberikan keterangan lagi karena dalam suasana berkabung. Menurut keterangannya jenazah Utha saat ini masih di rumah sakit Fatmawati, Jakarta.

Sebagai seorang penyanyi nama Utha Likumahua telah begitu sering kita dengar dan sangat akrab di telinga kita. Biarpun kita tak memiliki hubungan langsung dengan Utha, namun kita semua merasa kehialngan atas kepergian Utha menghadap sang Pencipta. Semoga saja segala kebaikan yang selama ini dilakukan Utha Likumahua, menjadi sesuatu yang berguna di alam sana, dan segala kesalahannya bisa mendapat ampunan-Nya.

Itu sebabnya, dia tidak pernah meninggalkan laptopnya di rumah. ”Kalau tiba-tiba dapat inspirasi, langsung buka laptop. Ada software khusus untuk bikin lagu,” ujarnya di sela-sela acara HP Inspiring People Award di Senayan City, kemarin.

Tak hanya membuat lagu, dia juga kerap menggunakan laptopnya untuk mengedit foto. Beberapa bulan belakangan, mantan pacar Tyo Nugros itu mengaku hobi fotografi. ”Di laptopku juga ada software untuk mengedit foto. Jadi begitu dapat foto bagus, langsung diedit. Pokoknya kemana-mana harus bawa laptop,” katanya lantas tersenyum.

Saat bosan melanda lantaran harus menunggu atau sedang tidak ada kerjaan, laptop juga menjadi teman setianya. Dia biasa memainkan online game untuk membunuh waktu. ”Kalau lagi bosan, aku main game. Tapi aku lebih banyak pakai laptop untuk kerjaan. Kalau cari-cari informasi tentang berita terbaru lebih cepat di twitter (yang diakses lewat telepon selular),” imbuhnya.

Terpilih Miss Universe 2010

JIMENA Navarrete asal Meksiko berhasil memenangkan mahkota ratu kecantikan sejagat, menggantikan Miss Universe 2010 Stefania Fernandez dari Venezuela. Acara yang menarik perhatian dunia itu digelar di Las Vegas Strip, Senin malam (23/8).

Perempuan berusia 22 tahun itu merupakan kontestan pertama yang menjawab pertanyaan wawancara. Navarrete, yang mengenakan gaun merah menyala di malam final itu, mengatakan kepada penonton tentang pentingnya mengajarkan anak-anak mengenai nilai-nilai keluarga.

Evan Lysacek, seorang skater peraih medali emas Olimpiade, menanyakan perasaannya tentang penggunaan internet tanpa pengawasan di kalangan anak-anak. Navarrete mengatakan, internet itu penting. Tapi, orang tua mesti berhati-hati dan mengawasi anak-anaknya.

Navarrete, yang terjun ke dunia modeling sejak berusia 15 tahun, adalah Miss Universe kedua yang berasal dari Meksiko. Sebelumnya, Lupita Jones dari Meksiko memenangkan gelar tersebut pada 1991. Navarrete menggantikan Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez dari Venezuela.

Kemenangan Navarrete ini sekaligus memusnahkan impian Miss Venezuela Marelisa Gibson, untuk memberikan kemenangan secara tiga kali berturut-turut bagi negaranya. Baik Gibson mau pun Miss USA Rima Fakih, tidak berhasil masuk ke dalam jajaran 15 besar finalis.

Dengan para penggemar dari 190 negara menyaksikan lewat tayangan televisi, Navarrete dan para finalis lain memperkenalkan diri sambil mengenakan kostum nasional mereka. Mereka lantas menari dalam gaun-gaun bewarna perak dan hitam seiring lagu pembuka pertunjukan, sebelum nama-nama finalis yang masuk dalam jajaran 15 besar diumumkan.

One of Christine’s favorite times working with Animal Avengers is when they participate in massive adoption days at large venues and people come from everywhere to welcome fur-faced creatures into their lives, homes, and hearts.

Ada Perempuan di Kamar Kos Sammy "Kerispatih"

Sammy Kerispatih Ditangkap Polisi, Saat penggerebekan di kamar kosnya, Hendra Samuel Simorangkir (28) alias Sammy, vokalis Kerispatih, kedapatan tengah bersama seorang teman perempuannya. Berdasarkan informasi yang dihimpun, perempuan itu bernama Regina Andriani (27). Selama ini ia tercatat sebagai warga di Jalan Bukit Nirwana No 110, RT 02 RW 12, Bogor, Jawa Barat.

Kapolrestro Jakarta Pusat Kombes Hamidin mengaku belum bisa memberikan informasi rinci mengenai status dan apa hubungannya dengan Sammy Kerispatih . Pihaknya masih terus melakukan pemeriksaan dan pengembangan terkait masalah tersebut.

Setelah diintai cukup lama, upaya penggerebekan terhadap Sammy akhirnya dilakukan pada Selasa (2/2/2010) pukul 02.30. Sammy diciduk di kamar kosnya di Jalan Pedurenan Sawit No 62 kamar A5, Setiabudi, Jakarta Selatan. Dari tangan Sammy, polisi mengamankan satu paket sabu dan sebuah alat isap (bong).

Semalam, polisi sempat kucing-kucingan dengan wartawan. Sebelum dibawa ke Mapolrestro Jakarta Pusat, Sammy berada di dalam mobil Honda New Civic warna silver dengan nopol B 1505 JA. Karena wartawan sudah mengetahuinya, polisi menurunkan Sammy dari mobil dan membawanya dengan mengunakan sepeda motor.

Sammy diapit dua polisi berpakaian preman masuk ke Mapolrestro Jakarta Pusat. Sammy mengenakan kaus putih bergaris merah dan celana biru. Untuk mengelabui wartawan, Sammy mengenakan helm khas polisi. Dia langsung digiring ke ruang pemeriksaan di lantai tiga.

"Kami telah mengintai Sammy sekitar satu bulan. Setelah memastikan, kami langsung membuntutinya hingga ke tempat kos Sammy di Setiabudi," kata Hamidin.

Dia belum memastikan apakah akan ada tersangka lain dalam kasus narkoba yang melibatkan Sammy itu. "Kami akan terus melakukan pengembangan dan kami belum tahu apakah akan ada tersangka baru," ucap Hamidin.

Kemampuan berakting Wulan yang bagus ini juga diacungi jempol oleh sang produser, Chand Parwez Servia.Menurutnya, karakter yang dimainkan Wulan ini sangat menarik.Wanita murah senyum ini bisa menghidupkan sebuah film dan menggambarkan kesan seksi yang baik. ”Adegannya memang berat,tapi Wulan yang terbaik dan karakter ini memang cocok untuknya,” sebut Parwez memuji pemainnya tersebut.

Film 18+ True Love Never Diesini merupakan sebuah film yang memotret sebuah cerita cinta. Sikap urakan dari seorang pria berganti heroisme untuk membela perempuan yang memang dicintai. Penggambaran yang bagus dari Nayato ini membuat film yang juga dimainkan Arumi Bachsin, Samuel Zyglwyn, dan pendatang baru Stevani Nepa ini menarik meski pada beberapa bagian ceritanya sedikit loncat. ”Film ini memperlihatkan tentang perjuangan cinta, menghargai pasangannya, kekasih dan menghargai apa yang kita miliki sebelum kehilangan,”ujar Parwez. I'm really not sure how and even if this pertains to a split between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, but must question how much People Magazine was paid to run the article.

As one who questions the media and their ultimate motives constantly, I don't place a great deal of faith in the article in People Magazine denying the Bradd Pitt and Angelina Jolie split.

Of course, in all honesty, a Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie split doesn't matter one way or the other to me.

Nancy's Father Dead

Nancy Kerrigan, Massachusetts police have arrested the brother of famed Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan in connection with the suspicious death of their father.

Mark Kerrigan, 45, is expected to be arraigned later Monday on charges of assault and battery on an elderly person, police said.

Daniel Kerrigan, 70, was found unconscious Sunday in the kitchen of the skater's childhood home in Stoneham, Mass. after cops got a 911 call reporting a "sudden death," police said.

His wife, Brenda, told the Boston Herald that her husband suffered a heart attack.

Police have not confirmed that.

Mark Kerrigan was also taken to a hospital for treatment of an unspecified injury and later brought to the Stoneham Police Department for questioning, police said.

Kerrigan, 40, a married mother of three, lives in nearby Lynnfield, Mass.

She was the victim of rival skater Tonya Harding, whose ex-husband Jeff Gillooly hired a hit man to kneecap Kerrigan with collapsible baton at a figure skating practice in 1994.

Kerrigan recovered in time to win a silver medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics. She also won a bronze medal at the 1992 Olympics for the U.S. skating team.

Harding was convicted of hindering prosecution and banned for life by the U.S. Figure Skating Association for her role in the attack on ice princess Kerrigan.

Don Hewitt Biography In 1968, CBS News forever changed the face of broadcast journalism with the premiere of 60 MINUTES. It was a revolution in television programming created by veteran newsman Don Hewitt. 60 MINUTES was the first news program to break into the Neilsen’s Top ten, and has been the highest rated public news program for more than thirty years. At the age of seventy-seven Hewitt continues to produce the show and is a major influence on broadcast news.

Born in 1922 in New York City,  Don Hewitt left New York University after one year to pursue a career in journalism. His first job was as a copy boy with THE NEW YORK HERALD TRIBUNE. From 1943 to 1945 Hewitt was a war correspondent in both the European and Pacific theaters. After the war, he worked as an editor for the Associated Press’ Memphis bureau, and remained in publishing until 1948. It was then that Hewitt began his long-term association with CBS News, as an associate director of DOUGLAS EDWARDS WITH THE NEWS. He continued with the show for fourteen years as both a producer and director.

In the early sixties Hewitt played a pivotal role in framing politics for a growing television audience. He directed and produced the now famous first presidential debate between John Kennedy and Richard Nixon. Around the same time he became the executive producer of CBS EVENING NEWS WITH WALTER CRONKITE. Within these many positions, Hewitt advanced the art of news broadcasting. Among his most influential contributions was the appropriation of the lower half of the screen for printed information. He created a more savvy generation of news “anchors” (a term coined by Hewitt), through his use of cue cards and multiple filming angles. It was this redefinition of the role of the news anchor that opened up the field for Hewitt’s major contribution.

In 1968 Hewitt created the first newsmagazine, 60 MINUTES. Using multiple anchors, each concentrating on a separate story, the program worked to provide in-depth coverage on a number of different topics. Unlike the nightly news, 60 MINUTES had the time to provide both the history and editorial commentary on the issues at hand. Having a greater leeway with the timeliness of their articles, 60 MINUTES could tackle systemic social and political issues in a way that had only been done before in print. This mixture of up-to-date reporting and extensive investigation gave 60 MINUTES an aura of knowledge and respectability previously unseen on television. In its first ten years the show rocketed to the top of the Neilsen ratings and remains there to this day.

Throughout the years, Hewitt has received every honor that can be given to a man in his position. The winner of eight Emmys, he was awarded the Founders Emmy by the International Council of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 1995. He has been honored by nearly every major university journalism program, including Columbia, the University of Missouri, Brandeis, and the University of California at Berkeley. Though Hewitt has remained out of the public eye for most of his career, his innovative spirit is at the core of much of the news that informs the country. His tireless pursuit of fair and effective reporting has led him into continued experimentation with the forms of broadcast news. His innovations have had countless effects on how the news is both reported and viewed. If imitation is the highest form of flattery, then one need only to turn on the television to understand how highly America thinks of Don Hewitt.

Monica Malpas

Monica Malpass Pregnant, Steve Thorne filed a lawsuit in Common Pleas Court alleging that he bought the ring for $78,000 at a Yardley jewelry store on June 15. After dating for just about four months, the couple became engaged. But, the lawsuit says, three weeks later Thorne broke off the engagement. Malpass wanted more children, and he did not, despite getting a reverse vasectomy.

Malpass, you may remember, was previously married to David Cutler, the real estate developer. The two had a nasty divorce a few years back, and the lawsuit says Thorne agreed to keep it quiet so Malpass wouldn’t have to endure the same problems as last time. It also says during that, during the last split, “Malpass lost her job for a three-week period as a result of the turmoil.”

So why all the fuss over, well, Monica Malpass? I was unsure as well, until a reader sent me a link to the photo above from Phillymag. And now I understand.

Jennifer Lopez was born on July 24, 1969, in the Castle Hill section of the Bronx. Her father, David, was a computer technician. Her mother, Guadalupe, taught kindergarten. Jennifer is the middle of three daughters. Her elder sister, Leslie, is a housewife who sings opera. Her younger sister, Lynda, is a DJ on New York's WKTU, a VH1 VJ, and a morning news show correspondent on New York's Channel 11. Jennifer's parents were born in Puerto Rico, but did not meet until both came to America. Her mother's parents were Europeans who settled in Puerto Rico. She says that it was her parents' work ethic that made a difference in her life. Jennifer took singing and dancing lessons from age 5. She attended 12 years of Catholic school, including an all-girl high school. She played softball and tennis in high school and was a gymnast.

After high school, she briefly worked in a law office. During this time, she continued dance classes at night. At 18, she left home because her mother was scared by her decision to pursue show business. With casting on "In Living Color" (1990) in 1990, she moved to L.A., but initially hated it. Finally her boy friend, David Cruz, moved to be with her there and she learned to accept her new environment. Her career took off from her "Living Color" stint and reached new peaks with her portrayal of slain Latino singer Selena

Jennifer Lynn Lopez was born in the Castle Hill section of the South Bronx on July 24, 1969. The middle of three musically inclined sisters, Leslie, a homemaker and Lynda, an entertainment consultant for New York's Channel 11, Jennifer always dreamed of being a multi-tasking superstar. Jennifer's parents Guadalupe Rodriguez and David Lopez were both born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the second largest Puerto Rican city. The two were then brought to the United States in their childhoods, and eventually met while living in New York City. While Jennifer is of Puerto Rican descent her paternal grandmother's parents were Europeans who settled on the island of Puerto Rico. As a child Jennifer enjoyed a variety of musical genres, mainly Afro-Caribbean rhythms like salsa, merengue and bachata, and mainstream music like Pop, Hip hop and R&B. Although she loved music, the film industry also intrigued her. Her biggest influence was the Rita Moreno musical West Side Story (1961). At age five, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Aside from being a budding entertainer, Jennifer was also a Catholic schoolgirl, attending eight years at an all-girls catholic high school named Holy Family, located in the Bronx, before graduating from Preston High School after a four- year stay. At school, Jennifer was an amazing athlete and participated in track and field and tennis. At age eighteen Lopez moved out of her parent's home. During this time Lopez worked at a law firm while she took dancing jobs at night. Her big break came when she was offered a job as a fly girl on Fox's hit comedy "In Living Color" (1990). After a two-year stay at "In Living Color" (1990) where actress Rosie Perez served as choreographer, Lopez than went on to dance for famed singer-actress Janet Jackson. Her first major film was Gregory Nava's My Family (1995) and her career went into over-drive when she portrayed slain Tejana singer Selena Quintanilla Perez in Selena (1997).
